Settling In........

Day 7.......
More or less got the pad and our comfort zone sorted... driving the mopeds through town is still a total mission ...realisation of the basic road rules became blatantly apparent yesterday..... cows sheep goats trucks buses cars and finally mopeds is the order of reign...
It was in that moment ... hands gripping both brakes... eye to eye with a moo in
a cloud of dust... I learnt highway code Mysore style... If you are not perturbed by any of this then your only other worry is the size of the pot holes...oh and the random speed bumps which even the local psychic would have problems foreseeing.....

Lifes An Adventure So Get Used To It!!!

mighty cauvery

Daze out from our base in Gokulam so far have included Mysore Town,

pretty hectic on first recogning...

The mighty Cauvery river & Brindavan gardens...which is a bit like a crap alton towers but its jewel is the colonial hotel which overlooks its famous fountain gardens....basically a few fountains with colored lights flashing...It appears to be some what of and Indian obsession water and colored lights... yawn....

After witnesing NYE in Manilla last year.. lets hope they discover gunpowder soon....

Simple in decor it still retains that days from the raj feel...tropical fish and silver hanging chairs gets my vote....plus my first bit of meat...Tucking into a spicey chicken tikka sandwich...sitting on the hotels terrace.... lord of the manor... for an hour at least...
Roads out of town are pretty quiet and the scenery breathtaking...mopeds are the perfect way to get around as yesterdays trip proved... if you can get over the fact that Mysore is health & safety exempt...then enjoy...just watch out for the cows!!
