Its a pity most of us now think that by ticking a box on facebook... we are making a diffence to the world......

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX

Today I go to a local school in Kesare, it is run to help under privileged children. Its an area close to the tourist area of St Philiminas Church in Mysore. The majority of families in this area are from Muslim backgrounds.The school, know as CWF Christian Womens Fellowship School has about 300 pupils and three classrooms.



It is run entirely on donations and the hard work
of the women volunteers.


This christmas they generated money by carol singing events. Not much help here from the Indian Government regarding the education of their children although they did sell the land to the school cheap and built three walls after much campaigning by Mr Ajubhai, a local social worker.
As it is now, the school still has only 3 walls.. this allows all sorts to wander through. On weekends vandals sometime trash the kids stuff and use the place as a toilet. Its a real shame.
They need to raise enough money for a 4th wall, this will allow them to play in peace and give the place the much needed security. The kids here were great too... The pictures speak for themselves.

Last year I worked with a similar organisation in the Philippines, Branchforth Foundation. helping raise awareness to the plight of forgotten people in flooded villages near Manila.
Thankfully after that publicity, vast quantity's of soil were brought into the area and the flooding was alleviated, for the next few years at least.

Im helping to highlight CWF school this year and hopefully we will try and raise enough funds their much needed 4th wall. This to me is an important cause. The teachers Hilda, Doris,Nagarathna,Norasma,Geetha & Sudha do such a great job on a shoe string budget... Different faiths helping each other for the worthiest cause.... the children... their next generation... Paypal donate system now in effect at the top of this page. Please, any help no matter how small will be appreciated.
