Penance and Practice...

Penance
The morning after was a pretty timid affair compared to the evening... I ate a great bowl of papaya, downed a fresh coffee kindly prepared by my hosts.

Many mixed faiths are hear
in India much like England...
I checked out church with our good friend Austin. He played violin there.

That was about the only highlight. Everything was dull compared to last night. yaaawn... I'll let Rob write a bit while I snooze and run from elephants in my dreams... zzzzzz

Progress
Practice was awesome today. Knees over shoulders in Kurmasana hands behind in line with arms(think about it). Bought chin to floor in Baddh-Konasana. Drop-back with Saraswati was best yet. Bandhas strong. I think I hit the zone today, mind was just out there. Coming back to reality was a bummer. My body hurts now.
Got time change. I now start practice at 7 a.m. Thats an hour an a half earlier! - after only 3 weeks! - I must be in Sharaths' good books.
Spent most of day trying to deal with the heat and meditating under the fan. Am also reading Vivekanandas book on Raja Yoga - it makes sense! Day 6 or something of fast and still dont even feel hungry - did have a lassi though.
Peace xxxx

A Trip to Mr Robinson's

I head back and meet Austins extended family.
I do a few shots of new
friends.....

and I'm also lucky
enough to have the pleasure of photographing Savina, wow she is gorgeous ;o)

Following the impromptue photo session & my rare excursion into the bible belt...
I went to seek help of different variety.

A local potion made from special herbs & semi fermented coconut... I track down this rare local brew.. smells like sick but is supposed to do you the world of good ;o)

I hold my nose and down half a bottle... Jeees ...Its rank man... I keep thinking of its good powers and down the rest! Burp!
Later, Austin takes me to a bar to meet his Cousins Pravna and Mr Robinson. We check out a local lagoon... Stunning here... totally unspoilt... later on that day I play cricket with the Sherwin & the Lads back at the house... Dam they are good.. I bowl full speed overarm at a 12 year old, he hits it way into the coconut trees everytime... Dam...

Later on that day we we went to catch the sunset en route I shouted stop the car.... I was at Bedinaguddy, Udupi.

Slum Dogs Bedinaguddy, Udupi.

Heron's Hell

I headed back to Mysore in the morning..

"well bro, i have been fixated to my screen with the last lot of images, from an
old stylist's point of view, Austin's family... the portrait of Savina
(beautiful name and face) you captured a natural raw and rare beauty we no
longer see in the western world, an hypnotic portrait of innocence, the "elders"
elegance,
grace but strong wisdom... and what can i say about the "slum
dogs" a tribe, with their ears erect guarding their gateway to survival... you
need an exhibition/party... a complete sensory "trip""
